We give children warmth

Social commitment and corporate social responsibility (CSR) have a long tradition at the Vaillant Group: For our family business, entrepreneurial success and sustainable growth are inseparably linked to our orientation towards social standards.

The Vaillant Group assumes social responsibility. We are committed to social progress and the well-being of our fellow human beings - for example through our strategic partnership with “SOS Children's Villages Worldwide”. We pay particular attention to the recognition of the ten principles of the UN Global Compact and the protection of human rights in our supply chain.

Our commitment to SOS Children's Villages is particularly close to our hearts, to which numerous employees dedicate themselves with energy and dedication. Find out more about our activities and our long-term international partnership with "SOS Children's Villages worldwide".

It all started in Worpswede in Germany

One of the oldest SOS Children's Villages in Germany is located near the historic artist town of Worpswede near Bremen. In 2015 the around 100 young residents celebrated its 50th anniversary. During the preparations for the celebrations in 2014, it became clear that the anniversary was also imminent for the heating system. It was clear to us that the two outdated oil boilers would have to be replaced by efficient gas condensing boilers this year. We provided the heating technology and one of our local specialist partners took over the installation - also free of charge, of course. In addition, a block-type thermal power station was installed that produces electricity and heat. As a result of the modernization, the SOS Children's Village was able to sustainably reduce its energy costs by 45 percent and its CO₂ emissions by 80 percent.

Wait and help: “On Hold” campaign, Austria

“You are at the right place – the Vaillant customer hotline. Currently, all of our employees are on the line with customers. Waiting is not nice, but helping is. Vaillant currently supports SOS Children’s Villages with 50 cents per waiting minute. Thank you for your patience.” This announcement by the nine-year-old Jacob was heard by customers who had to exercise patience in Austria in the telephone call loop of Vaillant. In July and August 2018, Vaillant Austria donated a total of around 10,000 euros for all waiting minutes. They went to the SOS Children’s Village in Seekirchen near Salzburg.

Full commitment: running for SOS Children’s Villages, France

They run every year. With commitment, with sweat and with a lot of good humour. Since 2014, colleagues from France have been taking part in running events for SOS Children’s Villages. The races are open for athletes at all sporting levels; children can also take part. Donations are made for every kilometre run. But it is not just about the money, it’s also about the common experience: “We always invite children from the SOS Children’s Villages,” explains Alexandra Deschamps, who oversees the partnership with SOS Children’s Villages for the Vaillant Group in France. “This is a great opportunity to meet the children in person and to do something with them.”
