This air-source heat pump system is installed in Poland, in Witoszow.

The initial scenario

The couple had moved to a smaller house after their grown-up children left home. A modern, single-storey house meant no need to go up and down stairs but the couple were frustrated by the complexity of the existing heating system. The previous owner used a gas-fed boiler, a heat pump for water heating and an additional 18 kW boiler fed with solid fuel, which needed regular attention and feeding with granulated coal. A more convenient, low maintenance system was needed. And the opportunity to switch to an alternative, sustainable, non-polluting source of energy was a real bonus.

The solution

Having decided on the aroTHERM split VWS 75/5 the upgrade was made in five straightforward steps. First, the old solid fuel boiler was removed. Next, electrical work was needed to prepare the power supply system for the new heat pump. Then the aroTHERM split was prepared and installed. Then the old heat pump - used for water heating in the old system - was removed. And finally, the new system was commissioned. This sequence of events was surprisingly quick. In fact, it was completed in one working day.

The new system reliably provides hot water for the couple and controlling temperatures is made using a remote control, with the bedroom at 20c and the living room and other spaces at 21.5c.

Total simplicity and zero emissions

The couple was totally satisfied with their new system. Not only did they invest in technology that will remain energy-efficient long into the future, they are benefitting from an ultra-quiet, ultra-controllable system they can simply ignore and enjoy living in the house.

Why Vaillant?

The couple regarded Vaillant as a trustworthy brand, with reliable and long-lasting products. They had a good experience with their local Vaillant installer who gave them good advice and recommended a heating solution that was exactly right for their needs - and fitted in a day.
