Circulation pipe
A circulation pipe keeps the drinking water, which is continuously circulated by a circulation pump, in motion. This conserves cold drinking water because users do not have to wait at the tapping point until the hot water arrives through the pipes. The immediately available hot water not only provides comfort, but also prevents the formation of germs and legionella, as long as the water is kept at a constant temperature of at least 55 to 60 degrees.
The circulation pipe is a two-pipe system in which the circulation pump keeps the cycle in motion. Heated water runs in the inlet pipe to the taps. The cooled water flows in the outlet pipe back to the heat generator. While circulation pipes are mandatory for large systems and the like, they are optional for detached houses. However, more comfort, protection against legionella formation and water savings speak for themselves.
