Why a ventilation system is useful

Comfort that works behind the scenes.

A healthy life begins with clean air – and this is exactly where a modern ventilation system comes in. Especially when buildings are constructed tightly, natural fresh air supply is often limited. A household with four people produces up to 15 liters of moisture daily. In well-insulated buildings, simply opening windows is often not enough to ensure the necessary air hygiene without losing valuable heat. Additionally, many people are not at home during the day and cannot regularly provide burst ventilation. Vaillant's residential ventilation system automatically provides fresh air in your own four walls around the clock. This way, you not only improve air quality, but also increase the value of your home.

The advantages of ventilation systems

Why a ventilation system is worth it.

  • Best air quality.

A ventilation system reliably directs stale air, moisture, and pollutants outside. The ultra-fine filtering of dirt, pollen, soot, and dust is particularly beneficial for allergy sufferers.

  • Energy savings meet home security.

All Vaillant ventilation systems work with efficient heat recovery and reduce your heating costs by up to 30%. Closed windows also provide less outside noise and increase burglary protection.

  • Protection of building structure.

While tight building insulation saves energy, it can also cause moisture damage. This is because stale air can no longer escape. Our modern ventilation systems prevent this particularly efficiently.

  • Right-size your heating system.

With a ventilation system, you make every heating system more efficient – whether heat pump, gas, or oil heating. Through heat recovery, your building's heating load is reduced. Then a smaller and more cost-effective heating system is often sufficient.

Operation principle

How does the ventilation system work?

Ventilation systems work on a simple principle: they continuously remove stale air, moisture, and pollutants from your living spaces while drawing in fresh air from outside. The fresh air passes through filters, removing dust, allergens, and pollutants before it enters your home. This keeps your indoor air clean and healthy.

A fan or blower moves air in and out, ensuring a steady exchange. Intake vents bring in fresh air, while exhaust vents expel stale air. The system also regulates temperature and humidity, so you enjoy a comfortable, balanced indoor climate all year round.

For the best air quality, the system exchanges the full volume of indoor air several times per hour. This ensures a healthy environment for you and your family. Trust in Vaillant for energy-efficient ventilation that brings fresh air and peace of mind to your home.

Vaillant tip: Efficient heat recovery is key.

Our ventilation systems use the warmth from outgoing air to preheat incoming fresh air in winter, reducing heating needs. In summer, the process reverses—cooler indoor air stays inside, keeping your home comfortable.

With up to 90% heat recovery, you can save up to 30% on heating costs.

Ventilation system options

Central and decentral ventilation

The choice of the right ventilation system depends on many factors: new construction or renovation project, building size, number of rooms, and not least your individual preferences. Basically, there are two technologies:

Fresh air throughout the house.

Are you planning a new construction or major renovation? Then a central ventilation system is the ideal choice. Discreet air ducts hidden in ceilings, walls, or floors connect every room to the central ventilation unit. This is located in the basement, attic, or utility room. The high-quality system ensures a quiet, draft-free fresh air flow and guarantees optimal air circulation even in airtight houses.

With Vaillant, you have the choice between powerful wall-mounted units and space-saving .

Combine heating and ventilation

Smart duo: heat pump ventilation system

Our ventilation systems can be combined with any heat generator, including gas or oil heating systems. The combination with a heat pump is particularly efficient.

While a heat pump provides heat in an energy-saving and sustainable way, the ventilation system ensures fresh air and recovers up to 90% of the heat. This significantly reduces your heating costs. In winter, the valuable heat stays in the building and doesn't escape through open windows. In summer, heat recovery works just as efficiently as in winter, only in reverse: the ventilation system now ensures that the pleasant coolness that the heat pump can generate through surface temperature control remains in the room.

By the way: heat pump and central ventilation control is conveniently handled via a shared system controller or our free myVaillant app.
