Your ventilation system should be professionally serviced about every 2 years.

It is also particularly important to check and change the filters regularly, which you can do yourself without hesitation:

• Depending on the environment, you should check the filters in the extract air openings monthly and replace them at least quarterly.
• The outside and exhaust air filters require a filter check every 6 months
• Filterexchange on a regulary base - see filter exchange message on unit.

• Cleaning of ceramic regenerator in decentral unit
• Checking and, if necessary, cleaning air duct system

Ventilation systems with heat recovery are especially beneficial during winter:

They provide continuous air exchange without losing valuable heating energy as shock ventilation by opening the windows would. This becomes even more important in well insulated buildings with respectively smaller sized heating systems: In such buildings, opening the windows to boost ventilation causes rapid loss of significant amounts of heating energy – and reheating takes longer due to the smaller dimensioned system and increases the energy consumption.

During summer, it is recommended to set incoming air temperature to 12-15°C and keep the ventilation running at daytime, if needed. Heating of rooms in summer is mainly a consequence of direct sunlight beaming through the windows. The lower the indoor temperature is kept by external shading, for example from trees, the bigger the spread between fresh air and exhaust air gets – enabling a well-adjusted ventilation unit to cool down indoor climate by up to 9°C compared to the outdoor temperature.

A properly maintained ventilation system will never become a threat to your health, but always remain beneficial to it: Regular servicing, cleaning and the exchange of filters guarantee fresh, purified air, free from pollen, dust and insects. Yet, if you don’t maintain your ventilation system as advised or don’t replace filters in time, moisture can accumulate in dust deposits – creating a breeding ground for germs and mould that can harm your health and well-being.
