The first step to more efficient heating.

Vaillant gas condensing boilers offer a reliable heating solution to increase the efficiency of your heating and reduce your heating costs at the same time. They heat your home quickly and evenly by converting a large proportion of the energy from the burnt gas into heat. Plus, they are compatible with various gas types and some can even be operated with hydrogen. The following information will give you a good overview of whether a gas condensing boiler is the right heating solution for you.

Advantages of Vaillant Gas Boilers

Small device, big impact.

  • Efficient and reliable technology.

For over 150 years, we've combined proven technology with high efficiency and powerful performance in our gas boilers, ensuring you enjoy warmth without worry.

  • Double the efficiency, half the worry.

Opt for a hybrid heating system by pairing a heat pump with a gas boiler, ensuring energy-efficient, eco-friendly warmth and reliability for your home.

  • Ready for green gases.

Prepare your home for the future. Our condensing boilers are compatible with bio-natural gas and bio-LPG. Some can even be converted to run on 100 % hydrogen.

  • Tailored warmth with tailored savings.

Cost-effective and space-saving, our versatile gas boilers fit perfectly in any home, offering efficient warmth for the budget-conscious.

How gas boilers work

The power of condensing technology.

Gas condensing boilers operate with a straightforward, efficient approach. They use gas to heat water, which is then circulated through your home's radiators and hot water supply. By recovering heat from flue gases, these boilers effectively lower heating costs and emissions. Modern systems enhance efficiency with condensing technology (see illustration below), capturing heat from both gas combustion and the water vapour in flue gases. Unlike non-condensing systems where this vapour escaped through the chimney, condensing boilers reclaim this heat, extracting more warmth from the same fuel.

Infographic showing how gas condensing boiler technology works

1. Gas burner: By mixing gas and air, we create an inflamable gas mixture, which can be burnt to create heat.

2. Heat exchanger: The heat exchanger transfers the generated heat to the water in the heating system. This warm water is fed into the heat distribution system via the pipes.

3. Heat distribution system: The heat distribution system acts like another heat exchanger. It transfers the heat from the water to the ambient in your home. During this process the water cools down again.

4. Condensing heat exchanger: The cooled water that returns to the boiler is used in the condensing heat exchanger. Here, it helps capture extra heat from the flue gases. As the water vapor in the gases cools down, it turns back into liquid water, releasing additional heat. This process allows the boiler to recover more energy, making it even more efficient.

Types of gas boilers

Find the ideal Vaillant boiler for your home.

Gas boilers come in two types, each offering unique benefits and the option for expandable storage. Decide which is right for your home: floor-standing or wall-mounted. For hot water preparaton, you can also choose between direct hot water preperation or the use of a separate storage.

Wall-hung gas boilers.

Wall-hung gas boilers, such as our , are a smart, space-saving choice, designed to be mounted at the wall. They require a chimney connection, ensuring efficient operation. These boilers are not only cost-effective but also adapt their output to meet your home's heating needs. As they are working independently of room air, there is no need for a permanently open window.

Available as standalone heating appliances or as combi boilers with integrated hot water preparation, they maximise space efficiency. For homes with higher hot water demand, consider adding a hot water cylinder heated by the gas boiler to ensure highest comfort.

Floor-standing boilers.

Floor-standing gas boilers, such as our , require a floor area of about 3 m² for installation. Known for their high output, they are ideal for apartment buildings and larger commercial properties, needing a chimney connection to discharge exhaust gases.

These boilers can serve as compact units for heating and hot water or be paired with a cylinder. Compact appliances are especially suitable for flats and small houses, offering heating and hot water preparation in one device.

Hybrid heating systems

Combining the best of both worlds.

Hybrid heating systems offer a sustainable and future-proof solution. Perfect for those seeking independence from fossil fuels, these systems integrate renewable energy sources, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing gas consumption and operating costs. Typically, they pair a heat pump with a gas appliance, making them ideal for homes with high heating demands or poor insulation.
