Solar heating
A solar heating system, also known as a solar thermal system, uses the environmentally friendly energy of the sun and converts it into heat for service water and, in the case of combined appliances, also for heating. Since solar energy is not constantly available all year round, solar heating systems are usually used to support the primary heat generator, such as a gas condensing boiler. The savings in terms of energy costs are considerable and the reduction in the consumption of fossil energy and CO₂ emissions will protect the climate. Solar heating may be sufficient as the sole heating system and, in combination with a power-generating photovoltaic system, makes you completely independent from energy suppliers.
The solar tube collectors of the solar heating system on the roof absorb the radiation of the sun and thus heat the solar liquid contained therein. The solar fluid transfers the heat to a heat exchanger, which passes it on to a buffer cylinder or, in the case of a combination solar heating system, to a combination storage tank, from which radiators and hot water are heated by pipes if required.
